Defibrillator Training

Monday 14th April at 7pm in Sampford Courtenay Village Hall
Your community needs you to know where your nearest Defibrillator is and be confident to use it and perform CPR.
Key Statistics:
- Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: There are over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year.
- Low survival rates: Less than 1 in 10 people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
- Defibrillator usage: Public access defibrillators are used in less than 10% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests where they are available.
- CPR and defibrillation: Immediate CPR and defibrillation can more than double the chances of survival.
- Time is critical: For every minute without CPR and defibrillation, the chance of survival decreases by up to 10%.
- Bystander intervention: Bystander assistance through CPR and defibrillation can increase survival rates significantly compared to when only police or firefighters intervene.
- Confidence in using defibrillators: Only 15% of the public would feel confident using a defibrillator.
Come along to the training and learn or refresh skills to be able to save a life
