Thermal Imaging Camera Scheme
Dear Parishioners
You will be pleased to know that the Parish Council has now set its budget for 2025-26 and reduced the cost to parishioners by an estimated 1.2%.
The Council recently also embarked on a partnership project to help parishioners reduce their energy bills but only 5 of the 350 households in the parish took up the offer to undertake a free survey of their homes’ energy efficiency!!
I have worked with Tamar Energy Community and was amazed when I did the survey on my 450 year old house. I found some glaring gaps in my energy efficiencies that can now be rectified with very simple measures, at very little cost and start saving me money.
It made me wonder whether you are really happy and confident with the measures you have in place to minimise the cost of your energy? Are you aware that the Energy price cap will rise again by 6.4% from April?
If you are comfortable with your arrangements to cope with this fuel increase then the project will not be of benefit to you, however, if you think that you might (as I did) be able to find options that will reduce your energy requirements, then there is still time to sign up for the project. Options also exist that attract certain government funding.
Please email me on cllr.wilson.scpc@gmail.com and I will arrange to send you briefing documents prepared by WDBC Partners Tamar Energy Community and book you in to use the Thermal Imaging Camera to complete a survey on your property.
